About our founder.
Lauren Alcantara founded Bright Sharp in 2024 after almost two decades in the state and Commonwealth public sectors.
Lauren began her career in Western Australia, working in community development and social impact engagement before moving to Canberra in 2010. Over the next 14 years, she held senior roles across central, policy and small agencies in the Australian Public Service.

As an executive leader, including in the Senior Executive Service, Lauren led strategy, engagement and organisational and policy reform across complex portfolios. Her experience includes senior roles at the Department of Finance, the Attorney-General’s Department, the Independent Parliamentary Expenses Authority and the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
​
Through Bright Sharp, Lauren brings together her senior executive experience in policy and strategy with her creative practice in visual communication and facilitation. Her approach is curious, frank and sharp, blending evidence and creativity to help organisations see clearly, think differently and deliver sustainable results.
